Disintegrator
This is a technique I received from a wonderful NLP teacher, Carolyn
Deal. It is a rapid tool for dissolving stressful emotions on the
spot. The technique is simple, but be sure to take your time as
you allow the emotions to desintegrate and dissipate fully.
1- Whenever you feel painful emotions, remember this technique!
2- Lightly place your left hand on the front of your head, touching the
entire forehead. Place your right hand across the back of your
head, (directly accross from where your right hand is in the front.)
3- Breathe deep continuous breaths consistently. Do not hold your
breath, even if you are crying.
4- Feel the emotion even more. Rather than suppress it, invite
it. Feel it. (no resistance) Soon the emotion will
dissipate. (It may even become difficult to dwell on the
situation.)
5- While holding your head, slowly rotate your eyes. Look to the
right, and upwards, and to the left, and downwards. If any
position triggers the painful emotion again, or intensifies it, hold
your eyes in that position and keep your hands on your head and BREATHE
until the emotion clears. Repeat this with your eyes
closed. (You may notice a spontaneous sigh happen as the stress
disintegrates.)
6- Notice how much more peaceful you feel!
